GIVING BACK

To mitigate the production of the 2007 paper-based Sustainability Report, the Nedbank Group donated 61 threemetre indigenous trees through the greening, climate change action and food security social enterprise, Food & Trees for Africa (FTFA ).

30 large indigenous trees were planted at the Johannesburg Girls Preparatory School in Berea, 16 trees were donated to the Tshepong Primary School in the North West province and a further 15 trees were donated to the Dominican Convent School in Belgravia.

The trees contribute to a greener and more beautiful environment, and will provide the learners with an understanding of the importance of trees in their environment.

At Nedbank we believe in effecting ongoing environmentally friendly and carbon-efficient efforts aimed at making a lasting sustainable difference en route to realising our vision of becoming Southern Africa’s most highly regarded and respected bank.

Edwin Makushu (Food and Trees for Africa) assisting Brigitte Burnett (Head: Nedbank Enterprise Governance and Compliance – Sustainability) plant one of the trees at Johannesburg Girls Preparatory School.
