The environment

The 2008 environmental training sessions for staff were conducted by Enterprise Governance and Compliance and focused primarily on teams operating within the areas of project finance, facilities management, and Governance and Compliance.

Numerous presentations were also delivered to key members of senior management in various business areas and to the Board Transformation and Sustainability Committee.

Awareness-creating initiatives, highlighting the group’s sustainability approach and our environmental initiatives, were included in a number of induction programmes through general awareness presentations, staff roadshows and internal communication channels such as Engage (internal email service) and our internal 3sixty staff magazine.

The group’s sustainability eLearning initiative was launched on World Environment Day and includes a carbon footprint calculator that allows employees to assess their carbon footprint and track their efforts to minimise it. Training on the eLearning platform will be made compulsory during the course of 2009.
